The installer cannot ping domain. getting error on informatica 8.6.1 installation


The installer cannot ping the domain.Verify that Informatica Services is running on the domain host and select Retry. 

STDOUT: [ICMD_10133] Command [ping] failed with error [[ICMD_10053] Node [node01_pratappc] Domain [Domain_pratappc] Host:Port [pratappc:6001] has failed to ping back.]. 


EXITCODE: -1

You will get this Error Message when you install Informatica 8.6.1 on Windows 7

To Resolve this Issue Follow Below Steps


add Power center server path in Environment variables. 
select Computer ,Right click => properties 
Go to Advanced Tab 
Click on Environment variables 
Under System Variables select "Path" for edit 
add the path of the Power center server (ex: c:\Informa......../server/bin. ensure to add a semicolon to separate the existing string with this. 

Now try to start Informatica service 

continue with Administration console

    I also faced same problem on windows 7.
    Below step solved my problem.
    1) Added C:\Informatica\PowerCenter8.6.1\server\bin to path variable.
    2) Started InformaticaServices8.6.1. To start service go to run and type services.msc, search for the service you want to start and start.
